My New Go-To Notebook
This is a notebook that has it all, leather bound (in a variety of colors), pocket for notes, elastic band to keep it shut, pen holder, nice (thick) paper, headers with good information on dates, days of the week or other (to check off) – As a fiction writer who can’t use electronics ‘at work’ this is a pleasure to write stories with. It folds down flat for easy access to the pages, unlike some that don’t fold out all the way. Good price and a variety of sizes, also. Now to practice my penmanship.

Wonderfully made product
Oh my, I love this thing! The cover feels like real leather so it’s a quality pu covering. It’s well bound so pages are not going to fall out. The paper is so nice and thick that I get to use my fountain pens and they work beautifully on this paper. I wouldn’t call it yellow more like a light sunset yellow/orange but it’s still very pretty color. I ended up ordering two more, a blue and a purple I am using them for a family tree journal to collect stories and paste in articles and such so I can pass it down and it can be added to, this way I can add the good the bad and the ugly without everyone seeing it. Upon receiving the yellow one which I ordered first, my mom fell in love with it so I ordered the purple one for her for mother’s Day. The blue will be used for the same purpose as the yellow just the different side of the family. Absolutely perfect for my use. It has the three ribbon bookmarks but it also has the elastic band to keep it closed. All of which I have found useful. And while I am using it for a rather unusual purpose, it would be perfect for any sort of journaling. The lines are not college so you have plenty of space to write without having to go tiny. I wouldn’t consider it for drawing as the pages are lined. However if you intend to write I think you could pretty much use it for anything.

A few suggestions to the manufacturer
I have been journaling for almost 40 years now, started as a little kid. I have bought hundreds of journals. I bought the same black Italian Fiorentina leather journal with buttery thick pages from Barnes & Noble for a decade until they stopped selling it. I spent years trying to find a high quality replacement. I got the Percun and will tell you pros and cons:Rating: 4-4.5 starsPros:+ (most important) Thick 300+ journals. When I buy thinner journals (160pages), I go through them very fast. So when I want to read back and find something, it’s written in a previous journal that I left at home! So I prefer thick journals (300-360 pages) so I have more weeks of recent writing with me.+ Journal size is perfect. 7.5″x9.5″ or 7.5×10″ works best. ( 8×10 opened wide takes up too much desk space in front of a computer. Smaller journal sizes don’t give me enough space to brainstorm, map out items, make big lists in one open view.+ Line space is excellent; not too narrow.+ Pages are smooth to write; not luxurious, but good enough+ Color is not pure white, so easy on the eyes+ Binding seems strong; does lay flat easily. A journal spine should never break down.+ Back pocket is very deep, functional and tucked away so nothing falls out.Top Suggestions for Improvements- (#1 most important) Please add page numbers to each sheet at the bottom cornerCost savings:- Manufacturer is generous, but I don’t need stickers; I have many office supplies already- I don’t need 3 different colored ribbons. 2 basic black or 1 black/1 red are good enough.- I don’t need double closing elastics. 1 thick strong black one is good enough.- I don’t need weather icon boxes. There are not only 3 types of weather, so it is unnecessary distraction and inaccurate. Pls delete?- (#2 most important) “Date” area is too low and too close to Memo. It is also too close to center divide which feels tight to write. To create more space, pls edit the top section like this:Date / /[Mo] [Tu] [We] [Th] [Fr] [Sa] [Su]- (#3 most important) Delete “Memo No.” (Just leave the top line bold and empty for us. That provides more blank space for me to write a longer memo, title of my writing, or my location. Currently top is too crowded with unnecessary text.- (#4 most important) Please add several lined pages for Table of Contents with preprinted numbers on every line.- Cover is a little bit dirty looking, like oily smudges or fingerprints. Soft to touch but kind of low quality looking. I am looking for a black real Italian pebble leather cover or a thick high quality black linen as a vegan option. That makes a journal look more upscale aesthetic.- Pls delete the tree on the cover; most people will ignore it, so it’s an extra unnecessary step. The manufacturer doesn’t need to go through the extra time or cost of stamping the tree. I can see which side is the front by the ribbons hanging out the bottom, or the elastic strap that closes the journal, and my pen on the loop. I wish they’d delete the tree so it is more minimalist style.OVERALL recap: I spent a lot of time on Amazon and other stationary websites looking for a journal like this. I would buy this journal again if the manufacturer made just a few improvements. Top line is crowded. Cover looks cheap. It needs a bit more graphic design organization to each page to be more spacious. Manufacturer is currently investing in unnecessary costs (ribbons, elastics, stickers). Once you remove that, reduce the cost? Closest I’ve found on Amazon to what I’m looking for.Thanks!!!!!!!
