I ordered this pair of kate spade new york Boxed So Spade Studs, Clear & Gold Color gold-toned, faux-crystal spade-shaped earrings because I couldn’t resist the cute shape and sparkle, and I’ve had a long-time fondness for Kate Spade designs.Sadly, Kate Spade is no longer with us, but I still treasure the clothes and accessories I have from her eponymous line. I have several lovely shift dresses and embellished cardigans that will never go out of style, I’ve worn them for years, and people always complement them and think they’re new. I carry one of her cross-shoulder bags every day; there’s enough room for everything I need when out and about on a busy day in NYC. There’s both a vintage, old-school feel and a freshness to her designs that I just love.These tiny spade-shaped earrings are about 1/4” tall at their peak and just under 3/8” wide. Worn right-side-up, they look like teensy spades. Worn upside down, they resemble tiny hearts, a little wider than tall, and a golden stem atop.The sales page says these have titanium posts and are made of plated metal. Both the sales page and the jewelry box these arrived in state that the faux crystals are cubic zirconia. These petite stud earrings catch the light, they sparkle and throw the light back beautifully.The backs of these earrings are the flattened double-bubble style, the foreshortened capital B backs that slide onto the posts.From a distance, these could be tiny diamonds; these petite earrings are gold-toned, and the cubic zirconias, up close, are fabulous, fun fakes.The earrings came packaged in a fun, sparkly, pasteboard box about 3” square and 1 1/2” tall. The presentation box is silver and dazzlingly sparkly; the kate spade name is on top in all lower case letters, with NEW YORK underneath in all caps. The earrings are nestled into the box on a square backing; there is a small velvet ribbon tab to lift them gently.The packaging here just adds to the ambiance; the whole package feels pretty and girly and yes, it made me feel just a tiny bit sparkly inside.These are a great example of the Kate Spade style; old school vibes that feel fresh and new, New York style, and a whole lot of sparkle.Perfect if you love vintage charm, city chic, and a hint of ladylike flirtation.

Excellent design; she likes them
This is a review of the clear gold earrings. You don’t have to be a jewelry expert to know that if a piece has a good-looking design and brand name, it’ll probably appeal well to the person who will wear it. These “So Spade Studs” fit that bill. It has an attractive design, and the build quality appears promising; the “gems” are sparkly and packed in well-finished gold-framed spades. They hang in a Kate Spade New York branded plastic holder. None of that matters if she doesn’t like them, but she does. Sometimes, even I get lucky :).

Christmas gift of the year
I got a couple of these for Christmas gifts this year and I know they are going to be a hit. I have a pair for myself and I have absolutely always loved them. They are not too small and not too big. They are the perfect size to give you some class without being overbearing. The gold tone color is stunning and I haven’t had any issues with the color wearing off. They are very lightweight so you can wear them all day.
