These pillowcases are a silk-satin. That means that the inside of the pillowcase is dull and not super smooth, but the outside, where we place our skin and hair, is super satiny smooth. I have curly hair, and noticed after I got my first silk pillowcase that I could take a nap (not a usual activity for me), and when I got up, my curls were not a disaster like they are when I sleep on a cotton pillowcase.I ordered a purple one first, which was more of a dull aubergine, but still technically purple. I dye my hair purple, and the first week after the dye job (oVertone, great product) there is some color transfer on my white cotton pillowcases, but it washes out. So if the purple dye transfers to a purple silk pillow case, no big deal. So I got a second one.Finally, I decided to get a pair of white silk pillowcases. These are just as wonderful as the purple ones.I hand washed them and let them drip dry from soaking wet. I did press them because I am just like that. They are so fluid and liquid. Since I just got the white ones, I haven’t had a chance to put them on my pillow, but tonight is the night.I sleep well on these, and my curls are still nice in the morning, which says to me that less damage is happening to my hair.The zipper on all 4 of my cases has been very functional and sturdy, so no complaints there.Let’s talk about caring for these items. They ARE silk, and silk is fussy and the fibers will break in the washer and especially the dryer. If you choose to wash them like that, you should know what will happen.My silk cases have stained a bit from my nighttime moisturizer and the remnants of my eyeliner. (I probably wear too much, but I wear makeup for me, no one else.) Sometimes I will treat the eyeliner with blue Dawn, but it doesn’t always work. But I knew this would happen, so I will live with it. My bedroom is not a public place, so if the pillowcases are not perfect, who cares? I use them for my face and my curls.Finally, I must say this. I have seen reviews with photos, and the photos show pillowcases ON THE PILLOW still with the shipping folds in the fabric. It looks like the buyer just took the pillowcase out of the package and put it on the pillow without washing it. Please don’t do that. When any fiber item is made, whether a garment or a towel or bedding, the factory does NOT wash the fabric. The fabric is woven/spun/knitted, and put on bolts; the bolts are shipped to the factory where the item is made. The item is cut and sewn, then shipped to the vendor who ships it to the buyer. At no point is the fabric washed. That is why you should always wash anything that comes in contact with your skin: towels, bedding, underwear, etc. The factories, especially in China, do not put much effort into cleanliness.Rant over.These are great pillowcases. They are good for my skin and protect my purple curls.

Very soft but easily scratched
These cover fit really well around my king sized pillows. They feel super soft sleeping with them and very comfortable with a slight cooling feeling when you initially put your head down. I do feel like my hair gets less frizzy since I’ve started using them and the quality feels pretty good. The only real issue I’ve had at times is when washing them it seems like they get scratched easily I’m not sure if it’s from the zipper but it breaks of tiny pieces on the pillow but doesn’t really affect the use just more so the appearance.

These are silky, a great color and a really good price. I like that the pillow case has a zipper. These would make a great gift and I will order more.

Silk pillow cases cause acne for many people (like me)
The pillowcase itself seems ok. Very thin but otherwise as described. BUT BUYER BEWARE, silk pillowcases actually cause acne for many folks (like myself).I did not know this when I bought them. When they arrived I washed them twice in accordance with the washing instructions on the tag. I bought black, and no dye was leaking off when I washed them. Then I put one on my pillow.The next morning when I woke up I noticed that every single pore on my face that had touched the pillowcase was absolutely black. Not just black on top of my skin, but blackheads. Every pore on my face was now a giant blackhead.At first I did not think about the pillowcase because silk pillowcases are supposed to be good for the hair and skin.So I scrubbed and exfoliated my skin as best as I could and dismissed it.The next morning when I woke it was the same dang thing! It looks like black freckles but it is blackheads!So I hit the ol’ interwebs to see what the hell I was doing wrong.As it turns out, it is not me. There are lots of threads on Reddit and Quora from people who have bought silk pillowcases and had various acne problems until they switched back to cotton. Most folks describe insane breakouts of “closed comedones” or actual pimples. There were a lot of folks saying “wash your pillow cases more often” stating is was likely the bacteria and oils from their skin causing it, but mine was freshly washed, first and second use.So, while these pillow cases seem just fine (even though super thin) they MAY cause you to have some skin issues.

This is super silky and lovely. Seriously so nice. But so slippery for me. Lol I felt like I was chasing my pillow around the whole night it was slip slidding away.My son now has it and loves it. Maybe on the sheets I have it made it way to slippery. My 9 yr old doesn’t have the same problem. He loves it and won’t give it back!!
